Why does it matter whether or not the jaw has remaining teeth?

One of the most important steps in the planning of guided surgery is the superimposition of the model of the jaw (i.e. teeth and mucosa) with the 3D radiological images in which the mucosa of the jaws cannot be seen with sufficient definition.

The correct alignment of both, Rx3D and STL, is essential to obtain reliable and accurate results. 

This requires very radiopaque elements, such as teeth, or metal cores that we use in cases of total edentulous.

What files do I need to send to Guisurg?

If there are more than three teeth (with crowns) in the maxilla of your guided surgery case, you only have to send us the 3D study in Dicom format, and the scanned models of the maxilla in STL format.
